God Takes the Foolish to Confound the Wise!
I want to take a quick moment and blog about something so simple it confounds the wise.
Every time I’m at a stop light, I look up and I am reminded about worry.
If you have been living up under a rock recently, you might not know we have had a horrid winter so far. The snow storms, the high winds and the freezing temperature have kept us shoveling, cussin’ and spittin’ in the wind – well maybe that’s just me. Most of us are in struggle mode with car repairs up to ying yang, heating bills and other life ‘stuff’ that makes the head swoon with worry/doubt/fear and we can’t take another hit of nothing! We stretch that Lincoln until his head is no longer on a penny. The economy is heartbreaking and along with other stresses, life can be overwhelming. But I looked up. I have gotten into the habit of looking up into the bare branches of trees and seeing little clusters of leaves and branches neatly compacted and held together by I don’t know what and my heart sinks.
Bird nests are built tough by one of God’s smallest and delicate creatures. Rough winds, freezing snow and rain pound on them constantly but…they’re still there. In fact, the larger / higher the tree, the higher THE NEST!. My God, if you can take care of the birds, then…you can take care of all of MY needs??? What a small but humbling thing to see.
Matthew 6:26-27
New International Version (NIV)
26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
