What Do You See In Your Surroundings?
You can watch something over and over again and find inspiration out of something you’ve never noticed before. Take Fred G. Sanford. The ‘g’ is for great! When I’m up in the morning and preparing for my day, the re-runs blanket my background. The raspy voice spewing comedic splendor gets me going. I noticed, however, the way he thought about his future. He was a junk dealer. He owned a junkyard with his son Lamont. They salvaged other people’s junk for a living. His home/store was filled wall-to-wall with a plethora of items picked up off curbs meant for the trash collector. To you and I, it looks messy and we could almost smell the various aromas of funk thick in the air. But to Fred, the proprietor, it was a KINGDOM. An EMPIRE. A LEGACY. He spoke grandly about his palatial establishment. The words he spoke drove him forward because he didn’t see junk. He saw a world of potential and thought forward enough for his son. Wow. Question. What do WE see in our surroundings? Junk or an empire of potential. xoxoxo
