Driving While Old & Crazy

Last week I had the unfortunate displeasure of witnessing a horrible accident just 20 short feet away from me.  I live on a steep hill and it had been snowing the night before so the road was an extra mess.  Because of the hill, people are known to speed down the very short block without thought to the bottom oneway cross street or pedestrians that like to criss cross back and forth.  There is a stop sign at the cross street but many times people push right on through it like it wasn't even there.  Stop sign? What stop sign?

The combination of the slick roads, an older driver speeding down the hill and the impatience of the driver who thought that they could beat the flying elder resulted in my pictures here.  I watched the old man speed and just knew something was about to "happen" and sure enough, the slow motion of an action scene unraveled right before my very eyes. Motionless, horrified, my snow removal shoval shook as I took in the unbelievable sight. The car that traveled behind the old flying bird immediately jammed on her breaks, jumped out of her car to hold back the driver as he proceeded to verbally assault the overturned driver stuck between the concrete and the weight of the SUV.  What were they both thinking?

I'm not a fan of the blame game but clearly this accident could have been prevented.  Anxious driving mixed with an "I dare ya" attitude keeps lives in constant danger and car insurance companies RICH bitch!!

Where has common road courtesy gone? Everyone is so busy jockying for the one up on each other without thought of the consequences.  It's a shame to be so petty and wicked as to not yield for life's sake.  What's the problem?  Does it mean that much to us to be 'in front' of someone else?  And where are we going?  We're just one car ahead...no place different than if we took our time and yielded in a courteous manner.

For goodness sake's people CHILLLLLLLLL!!! Don't be in so much of a hurry to rush off into death!  Take your time, be nice and LIVE!!!!

Peace,

Jewelz

This mess happened first thing this morning at the end of my block...saw the whole effen thing DAMN!!
